We have been waiting for Layla exactly 7 months today. It is a little late to start a blog, but we would like to share our adoption journey with others and show off our beautiful little Layla.
After adopting 2 little boys from Guatemala, I finally convinced my husband that we needed a little girl so I am not the only female in the house. We started the paperwork in March and were ready for a referral by the first of June. We were told it would be a couple of weeks for a referral but it was 21 days !The wait was terrible but it was just the beginning of the wait that was yet to come.
Layla was born on June 20, 2006 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. We recieved her referral the day after she was born. We had been trying to decide on a name for a couple of months and when we recieved her birth certificate and saw the name her birthmother had given her we just new she was our Layla! We did change her middle name to Roselena, after my husbands two grandmothers, Rose and Helen.
We were so excited and so were her two brothers, Noah and Elijah. I figured we had been through this twice before so we should be old pros at this.
